With the WA Government set to roll out one of its most anticipated battery rebates programs, and the Federal Government now offering significant battery incentives, Broome homes and businesses are in a prime position to benefit.
To help make sense of it all, we’ve created a simple Battery Rebate Fact Sheet to clear up the confusion and ensure you don’t miss out on thousands in potential savings.
From 1 July 2025, the WA Residential Battery Scheme will provide:
✅ Up to $7,500 in rebates
✅ PLUS interest-free loans of up to $10,000
Eligibility criteria:
❌ Batteries installed before 1 July 2025 are not eligible for this rebate
The Federal Government’s battery rebates are already available and backdated to 6 April 2025:
🏠 Approx. $370 per kWh
💰 Up to $18,500 for larger systems (max. 50 kWh)
Eligibility requirements:
⚠️ Not stackable with the WA rebate if installed before July 1
👉 Rebate reduces 25% per year until 2030 – act early for the best return
The Small-scale Technology Certificates (STCs) program offers upfront solar rebates for systems under 100 kW.
Broome Example (Zone 2):
🔆 13.2 kW system ≈ 121 STCs
💵 At $36/STC = ~$4,356 in value
If you’re planning a solar and battery system in Broome, here’s how to get the most out of the current rebates:
🕒 Wait for WA battery rebates to start in July to claim the full $7,500 + loan
☀️ Install solar now to lock in STC savings
🔋 If installing a battery before July, you may be eligible for Federal rebates only
We’re here to help Broome go solar – smarter.
